By consistently following a timetable, key tasks could be turned into habits over a period of time. It is necessary to be rigid about the timelines for completing the subjects while leaving room for some flexibility for changes to be made in the daily timetable with respect to covering the subjects.

3.  Strictly follow the UPSC syllabus: The aspirants are often misled by the hearsay that the UPSC syllabus contains everything under the Sun and beyond. While the fact remains that the syllabus is indicative. An aspirant can benefit from strictly sticking to the syllabus while studying.

There are many websites that also aid the preparation, as the resources are prepared by veterans. Choose a few websites and follow them regularly. Make sure that your precious time is not spent on unnecessary details and in-depth study of a topic.

5.     Make time for hobbies and leisure: “All work, no play makes Jack a dull boy”. One has to understand the importance of rest, to be able to function effectively.
